New pictures of the HyperLoop test track in Nevada were revealed at the Middle East Rail conference in Dubai. It is called DevLoop. It’s 500 meters long and 3.3 meters in diameter. The co-founder and president of engineering at Hyperloop One said this at the conference:
Our team of more than 150 engineers, technicians and fabricators have been transforming what was, just over five months ago, a barren stretch of desert, into a hive of activity and now home to the world’s first full-scale Hyperloop test site.

Hyperloop One plans to build its first commercial installation between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The travel time between these two cities could be reduced significantly with a new transportation system based on the Hyperloop system. It would take 12 minutes to traverse the 100 mile distance. Any member state in the Gulf Cooperation Council would be accessible within 1 hour. Here’s a statement from the CEO of Hyperloop One:
While technology is revolutionizing many facets of our lives, we have not seen a radical change in transportation since the Wright brothers introduced air travel over 100 years ago. Tying together the Middle East region would produce greater virtual density, without congestion and pollution, spurring innovation, productivity, job growth and more powerful sharing of knowledge, labor and investment.
